Biography
Lisa Marie Beauchamp is a Canadian country-rock singer who currently resides in the province of Quebec. Her musical inspirations are Shania Twain, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Doobie Brothers and the Eagles.
She grew up in a small rural community near the city of Ottawa and started to perform at the age of twelve, as a pianist. She later discovered a passion for singing and for many years, has enjoyed performing at various events, such as, the Hot Air Balloon Festival, Navan Fair, the National Arts Centre, etc. Many interesting projects were presented to her and led to opportunities to work with, or in collaboration with, local, national and international artists.
As a member of the Cornerstone Choir, she performed with Josh Groban, a multi-platinum international singer-songwriter-composer, at the Scotiabank Place (now Canadian Tire Centre) and at the Ottawa Bluesfest, for Lyle Lovett, a country folk/jazz/blues/gospel singer-songwriter-composer and four times Grammy Award winner.
She performed at the opening of the “Richard Robinson Haute Couture Fashion Show”, an internationally-renowned Canadian Fashion Designer and Couturier, at the Canadian Museum of History.
She also supports various charities, such as the Government of Canada Workplace Charitable Campaign, the Stephen Lewis Foundation, World Vision Canada and Snowsuit Fund. She participates and contributes in their events, either as performer or MC alongside public figures and many artists, such as, Derek DeBeer, a master drummer who has toured the world and shared the biggest stages with Bruce Springsteen, Sting, and Robert Palmer.
Her services were also retained to work as a backup singer for Nelson Colt, a country music singer-songwriter-composer, and special guest, Barry Brown, a Canadian Country Music Award (CCMA) winner and member of "The Family Brown" band, at the National Arts Centre.
Lisa Marie has always enjoyed both acting and singing, however, music always seemed to make its way back into her path. After auditioning for a lead role, in a pilot miniseries, she was hired to play the part of a young single mother struggling to make it as a singer. She was also offered a part as an "extra", alongside Holly Larocque (well-known for her role in “Under the Umbrella Tree” seen on the Disney channel), in a musical called "Past Forgetting", a reenactment of World War II events .
Along the way, she participated in many singing competitions, such as the Montreal Club Med World, National Karaoke Contest. As the first runner-up she recorded two songs and subsequently, was offered an opportunity to work for the company and lend her voice, as a vocal guide on karaoke albums, which are now sold nationally in most major retail stores. She was also the first runner-up for the "Ontario PoP" singing competition, which was broadcasted nationally on the Canadian French-language network "ICI Radio-Canada Télé" (formely known as Télévision de Radio Canada), from the Ottawa National Arts Centre (NAC), where she performed alongside Jean-Pierre Ferland and François Cousineau, well-renowned singers-songwriters-composers.
